Marketing Trends Update

12 Aug 2016

We may be halfway through the year but it isn’t too late to take advantage of some of the biggest marketing trends of 2016.

Here at Montañez & Co. we got our fingers firmly on the pulse and have put together an updated guide for this year’s biggest trends.

Over recent years there have been huge advances in the world of technology, providing new ways to promote and advertise your business.  One of the biggest things to appear in 2016 has been the 360 videos, seen on social media platforms such as Facebook and recently Instagram. It is a great opportunity to embrace them as a promotional platform.

What's more, video posts are attracting 3 times more inbound links than plain text – provided you’ve done a good job on your video SEO, of course!

With videos expected to make up 60% of all mobile traffic by 2020, now it is the time to get started.

Personalised Content

Content has definitely become more personalised in 2016. As a result, we are moving away from Search Engine Optimised Content that pleases search engines to User Friendly Content that pleases your customers.

After all, the best way to get your clients coming back for more is to ensure that you provide them with content that they actually want to read and information that can help them.

Content is also getting prettier and more dynamic thanks to the super-fast internet. This means that gone are the concerns of slow connectivity so businesses can embrace larger images and animated GIFs - making your content look good and also entertaining.

Mobile content has seen a huge growth over the past few years. With the rise of the smartphone, many people are accessing content whilst on the go, meaning that it has never been more important to have a website that is mobile friendly.

Dedicated apps are also becoming more popular and if this is suitable for your business then is definitely something to look into.

Social Media

Businesses have been focusing their efforts mainly into the two big names: Twitter and Facebook. Whilst those still remain a popular way to speak to your target market, newcomers such as Instagram and Snapchat are also great places for promotion.

Sponsored advertising on social media sites is also becoming a vital tool in marketing. Earlier you could get by with solely organic likes and reaches, however, this is now becoming more difficult, thus paid promotion is becoming the way to go for targeted and accountable advertising.

Stay tuned and discover more about these and upcoming marketing trends in our blog. Keeping ahead of the trends, or right on them, is the best way to see growth in your business, no matter which year it is!

As always, we’ll be happy to help you identify which approach works best for you.
